Road weather stations and road cameras
We build, configure and maintain road weather stations and road cameras across Estonia. We are a partner to the Estonian Transport Administration.
There are 90 road weather stations and over 150 road cameras alongside Estonia’s main national roads. Many of them have been built by AS Signaal TM. Road weather stations and road cameras help monitor weather conditions on the national road network and how they change. They warn road users of changing conditions, and the data and images assist the companies responsible for maintaining the roads.
The stations measure air temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed, and direction, as well as road maintenance parameters such as road surface temperature, road conditions, visibility, etc.
Road weather stations and road cameras – built for the conditions
For the road weather stations and their sensors we use equipment from the recognised manufacturer Vaisala, designed with Nordic climate conditions in mind.
Modern equipment is straightforward to install in the locations where accurate data matters most. When installing and maintaining camera systems, we take account of the specific characteristics of each site.
Road weather stations and road cameras – regular maintenance
A road weather station is made up of various devices, including sensors for air temperature, humidity and road surface temperature. To stay reliable, both the stations and the camera systems need regular inspection and servicing.

All road users can view road weather station and road camera data on the TarkTee portal. This makes it possible to plan safe journeys.
